The Sun https://old.unpo.org/article/12951 saw marginal month-on-month growth of 0.8% in February to reach 20.1 million people – the only monthly growth among any of the top ten newsbrands. The Sun had dropped to sixth place in October but has worked its way back up the ranking. Among the wider top 50 for audience reach, most (36) saw month-on-month growth led by GB News (up 10%) to 9.1 million).

You could easily spend a week or more exploring just the capital, but if you want to get around to some of the UK’s other towns, beaches or countryside areas, there’s plenty of easy day trips you can enjoy from the capital too. London is an obvious place to base yourself if you’re travelling from abroad to the UK. Daily Star continued its streak of strong year-on-year growth, up 80.6% to an audience of 8.2 million. Sky News (up 8.5% year on year to 19.3 million) and The Sun (up 8.4% year on year to 21.6 million) followed this year-on-year growth, with both seeing month-on-month growth too (10.9% and 0.8% respectively). Six of the top ten newsbrands in the UK saw their audience grow both month on month and year on year in January 2026, according to the latest data from Ipsos iris. The Daily Record saw the biggest month-on-month drop in page views, down 40% to 22.3 million. The Financial Times saw the biggest increase in total minutes spent compared to January, up 11% to 47.5 million. Seven newsbrands recorded month-on-month growth in minutes spent with their content in the UK in February.

The Oxford Mail (3.7 million minutes) also saw the highest month-on-month growth of total minutes spent in August at 27.5% to 3.7 million. The US broadcaster was also second for month-on-month growth in total minutes spent (up 46% to 15.7 million minutes) behind Channel 4 (up 55% to 627.2 million). (up 24.4% to 32.1 million minutes) also saw the biggest month-on-month growth in time spent with their content. The Daily Mail saw the second biggest month-on-month growth (up 5.2% to 18.6 million) followed by Business Insider (up 5.1% to 2.9 million).

The White Cliffs of Dover are def one of the best places to visit in Kent and make for an awesome London day or weekend trip – check out my ultimate guide to visiting them here. “There’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover” sang Vera Lynn and, stood on the edge of Kent, with France clearly visible just under 22 nautical miles away, you can sing too as you stroll along these iconic limestone giants.
